針對外界討論的「棄保效應」，親民黨總統參選人宋楚瑜今天(7日)在結束廣播節目專訪後、接受媒體訪問表示，他不需要操作「棄保」，因為民眾自己會決定。

宋楚瑜指出，他在2012年參選總統時，「是我操作棄保嗎？也不一定是國民黨操作棄保」，其實是人民很希望再給馬英九一次機會，但是這幾年來人民太失望了。

宋楚瑜表示，好多人都告訴他2012年時是投給宋楚瑜，而沒有投給馬英九，所以「奇怪得很，我的票都到哪裡去了？」宋楚瑜說，常常覺得他的票是不是被人家做掉了。
